He woke up this past weekend and thought they were out of potatoes - he texted his mom from the comfort of his covers "We got any taters?" with a sad face emoticon in there and when she said "we keep the extras in the back yard" the above pictures are his happy face while harvesting the "runt" of their spud patch! Notice also how they used old logs to make the raised beds for the spuds - great idea! I love this collage so much that I also had to "Pin" it on my Pinterest Page! He does a great job of showing how he harvested the spuds too - so proud of this kid and his mom for growing their own! Your kids can have this look too - just help them plant some spuds!

OH the JOY! The POTATO LOVE!
We have been doing a lot of potato stuff here at Wicked Raven and at the High School - and it seems every one has got the potato fever! Some of the other staff at the High School have picked up the Victory garden idea and done some planting as well. I had to blog this young man - his face reflects such joy in the bounty of the garden! This is my friends son - She works at the school also and she and her kids planted some of the same types of potato that we have growing at the school. These are purple potatoes - no the color in the photo is not off - its perfect!
